2023 - 2024 micro grants

The Snapdragon Fund is a partnership between VAE Raleigh and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The Snapdragon Fund is allocating $10,000 in this cycle to twenty $500 micro grants that directly support individual artists with a demonstrated talent in social artistry.

Micro grants are intended to encourage emerging artists to invest in the creation of new work. Funds will be awarded to self-identifying visual artists who are 18 years of age or older and are living in the 12 county region listed: Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Nash, Orange, Wake, Wayne, and Wilson counties.

Snapdragon Fund will prioritize the most vulnerable artists among us: BIPOC artists, gender-non conforming and transgender artists, artists with disabilities, and artists experiencing housing insecurity. Applicants will demonstrate their visual art practice by submitting links to their websites, the website of a visual art event they recently participated in, and/or by uploading an Artist Resume/CV and/or an  Artist Bio and Statement.
